acknowledgements

I would like to thank the Girl Scouts of America and staff for the support and opportunity to engage in such a meaningful and impactful project. Erica St. John at my school was also vital in helping me transition my Gold Award project to my Community Action Project. Thank you to Stephanie Green for providing influential and helpful advice as well as working with me to complete my project; I especially loved meeting the staff and leadership of the Women’s Foundation of California (my community partner). Julie Sygiel, as my project advisor, helped me flesh out the nuts and bolts of my project and the creation of my marketing materials. Marnie Aulabaugh (my mom) helped me with anything and everything, as my Girl Scout leader she oversaw the process and completion of my project. I would like to thank Denise at Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles for helping me develop a plan and creating an attainable goal for my project. My Girl Scout troop members were also very supportive throughout this, and I would like to thank them for their hard work in cookie sales and showing up when I needed help. Special thank you to my family for the support and love they gave throughout all the 84 hours of work and my entire Girl Scout Career. Without all of these amazing people my project couldn’t have been possible, I have endless amounts of gratitude.

Stephanie Green, Chief Strategist, Partnerships

Stephanie Green was the representative that I worked with from my community partner, The Women’s Foundation of California. She helped me by discussing how to reach legislators, reviewed my ads and copy, and offered support from the foundation. project advisor

Julie Sygiel, Founder, Dear Kate

Julie Sygiel shared her knowledge as an entrepreneur in the women’s hygiene space to guide me through brainstorming, development and strategies for the Period Project. She was very helpful throughout the process and discussed concerns as well as achievements along the way. Without her this would not have been possible.
